We supply melamine-urea formaldehyde resin, as well as phenolic resin systems for finger-jointing and laminating. The adhesive systems comply with the SANS 10183-2 specification and are certified as Service Class S3 adhesives, for use in exterior applications. It therefore imparts both water-proof and water-resistant properties to the glue-line.
The melamine-urea formaldehyde resin has been tailored to provide a system that is robust in its performance with respect to temperature, allowing users to operate successfully at ambient temperatures as low as 3°C.
In South Africa, the process for manufacturing structural timber is challenging. At Chemicals and Research, we endeavour to provide process and technology solutions that are plant specific. Our support team uses their vast knowledge of the industry to assist with troubleshooting, and to improve productivity i.e. designing and building customised glue applicators.
